International Nurses Day is recognised around the world on May 12, commemorating Florence Nightingale's birthday, to rejoice and acknowledge the contributions and achievements of nurses in society.
Final year Nursing students and staff at UWA will be celebrating International Nurses Day on May 14 at the School of Population Health.
Professor Colleen Fisher (Head of School) will open the event, and celebrations will follow with tea, coffee and delicious treats supplied by the School of Population Health and the Nursing Student Committee.
The International Council of Nurses has set the theme for this year as
"Nurses: A Force for Change. Care Effective, Cost Effective"
Students and staff will be encouraged to reflect and discuss the ways in which their practice can impact and make a difference to creating an efficient and effective health system. More information can be found
