A prize of two Virgin Australia domestic airfares – to any destination in the country – is the pick of the crop among the great prizes on offer at this year’s UWA Employee Benefits and Wellbeing Expo.

Human Resources organisers Celine Gaudin (Employee Benefits Manager) and Sarina Hilton (Health and Wellbeing Officer) have combined their efforts again for a bumper expo with 22 stalls in and around Winthrop Hall.

From 10am to 2pm tomorrow April 30, the Expo will showcase the many benefits you can access as a UWA employee. This is the second combined Benefits and Wellbeing Expo held at UWA.

Feedback from the 2014 event was very positive, Celine said. “Staff told us they appreciated being able to find out about everything on offer in one place; and they also enjoyed the lighter elements such as the cooking tips and massages,” she said.

Sarina said that while this is an age of computers, the Expo provided a good opportunity to engage with staff face-to-face and bring some of the programs and offerings to life.

“For example, this year we’re launching a brand new UWA-developed healthy lifestyle challenge at the event,” she said.

Easifleet is the major sponsor and will be offering free barista-made fresh coffee on the day.  Other exhibitors include a variety of on-campus service providers such as UWA Sports, as well as private health insurers, banks, UniSuper, car leasing companies and travel organisations.

Activities on offer include 10-minute massages, health-checks and muscle-strength and grip-testing. Nutrition Australia will present Asian-themed healthy cooking demonstrations and tastings from noon to 1pm, with recipes to take home.

The door prize pool is valued at more than $3000, including but not limited to a Tertiary Travel voucher; a Fitbit Flex; Co-Op Bookshop and University Club vouchers; Coles Myer gift vouchers and multi-session passes from UWA Sports and the Exercise and Performance Centre on campus.

“People attending the Expo will receive a booklet with special offers included, but even those who can’t make the event can access the booklet and its bonus goodies,” Celine said.

In addition to discussing the Benefits and Wellbeing Expo, UWA Forward took the opportunity to find out about the ‘real’ Celine and Sarina by asking some getting-to-know-you questions.
