UWA had a solid start to the Tertiary Sports Western Australia inter-university competition, taking home the women's basketball trophy. Touch rugby and basketball were contested at Curtin University on Friday 6 March.

The UWA men's and women's touch teams progressed through to the grand finals, unfortunately both went down to strong teams from Edith Cowan University and University of Notre Dame respectively.

In the basketball it was a mixed result with the UWA men's team missing out on a finals berth. Our women's team faced some strong opposition throughout the competition, and after a tense final were victorious against a very talented Edith Cowan University team. UWA women's basketball team captain Georgia Clarke was named the Most Valuable Player for the competition.

Grand Final Results

Touch men's: ECU 7 def UWA 2

Touch women's: UNDA 7 def UWA 2
