One of the biggest live art events ever seen in Australia kicks off in Perth this Friday.

The Incredible and Phenomenal Journey of The Giants to the Streets of Perth will kick off the Perth Festival in a three-day parade style event spectacular beginning Friday 13th February.

The spectacle involves two giant marionettes roaming the City of Perth in a moving and emotional commemoration of World War One.

The six-metre tall marionettes are the creation of the world-renowned French street theatre company Royal de Luxe.

The Perth Festival was initiated by The University of Western Australia in 1953 and is a continuing partner to this day.

The Giants commences a month long festival of diverse and innovative cultural experience involving more than 1000 artists from around the world.
