Three staff from UWA have received Australian Awards for University Teaching, administered by the Office of Learning and Teaching.

Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning were awarded to:

Winthrop Professor Denise Chalmers , Director of the Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning

For 25 years of scholarly innovation and leadership to enhance student learning and engagement through developing university teachers and teaching.

Professor Jane Heyworth , Sub Dean (Health Science), Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences

For encouraging, inspiring and enabling students to become well rounded practitioners through application-based learning and supporting their journey from enrolment to graduation.

Ms Jo Hocking , Career Mentor Link co-ordinator

For sustained contributions to student learning and engagement through development of an innovative industry mentoring program that promotes students' personal and career development learning.

Professor Alec Cameron , Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) congratulated Denise, Jane and Jo on receiving the highest level of recognition for teaching contribution in the higher education sector.

"They are worthy recipients, much valued members of the UWA community and significant contributors to the overall student experience at UWA," Professor Cameron said.
