Spring is the perfect time to improve your fitness, especially with free classes offered on campus on Tuesday evenings.

Private health insurer HBF is again running Outdoor Fitness sessions on the oval behind the Human Movement laboratory, next to the School of Sport Science Exercise and Health , at the south end of the Crawley campus.

Staff at Sport Science have worked with HBF staff to design the program, which is also run at 20 locations around Perth and a few regional centres.

The hour-long fitness classes are free for HBF members, with beginner, intermediate and advanced levels offered, along with family classes.

Nearly 11,000 people took part in the spring/summer season of HBF Fitness last year and nine out of 10 of them said they would do it again if the free sessions were offered this year.

The classes began last week, on 6 October, and will run for eight weeks.  After a Christmas break over December, they will start again in early January.

The UWA class runs from 5.30 to 6.30pm. You can still join in if you are not an HBF member, for a fee of $120 for eight weeks. The Family Active sessions are for parents with children aged 5-14 years.

See the HBF Fitness website for registration and other locations around Perth.
