UWA students Sam Gilmour, Chris Smith, Adam Negri and Steve Thomas have been selected to represent Australia in the World University Sailing Championships in Italy from 29 June to 5 July.
As the defending champions, Sam and his team will need to beat strong opposition from countries including Great Britain, the USA, Germany and Singapore. Australia has four teams competing, with the second men's team to be skippered by Jay Griffin (UTS) and the women's teams by Tara McCall (UNSW) and Kathleen Stroinovsky (UTS). Perth is set to host the 2016 World University Sailing Championships.
