Kees Boersma and Sylvia Hosking present AMEB's new Double Bass Syllabus webinars.

Join Kees Boersma, Syllabus Consultant and Principal Double Bass SSO, and Sylvia Hosking, Assistant Principal Double Bass MSO to discuss and learn about the new Repertoire and Technical work requirements for the new AMEB Double Bass syllabus.

Kees and Sylvia will also play through excerpts of both repertoire and technical work and will answer your questions on the new syllabus.

Webinar technical requirements

Accessing the webinar is easy. There is nothing to download; all you need is a broadband internet connection and a web browser.  The webinar will work on all PC, Mac and tablet platforms and is compatible with all major internet browsers.

AMEB has released a brand new double bass syllabus

Incorporating the best of international developments in double bass repertoire and pedagogy and with a focus on inspiring today's exam candidates and their teachers. The new double bass syllabus features:

  • Fully revised Technical work, set out in the new Technical work book (Preliminary to Grade 8), including custom-composed technical work exercises for more streamlined learning
  • Grade books (Preliminary to Grade 4) with a range of repertoire suitable for examination at each grade
  • Revised Manual Lists (Preliminary to Licentiate) incorporating a diverse range of musical styles including Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Jazz and Contemporary music
  • The full sequence of AMEB grades from Preliminary to Licentiate
