The late Tony Pecotich, a former Marketing professor at the UWA Business School, has been internationally recognised by his peers.

The 39 th Annual Macromarketing Conference , being held at the Royal Holloway University of London in July, will be preceded by the Tony Pecotich Doctoral Colloquium.

The Conference will explore Macromarketing during crisis, including conceptual areas such as neo-liberalism, globalisation, financialisation, precarity, and semiocapitalism.

Professor Pecotich, who obtained his doctorate at the University of Wisconsin, was an academic at UWA from 1986 until he retired.  He worked primarily in the areas of cross-cultural marketing, sales management, citation analysis, strategic marketing, consumer behaviour, and economies in transition.

Professor Pecotich supervised honours and doctoral students, taught at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and published widely. He was well respected within the University and the wider marketing community and was the Head of the Department of Information Management and Marketing during 1999.

In 2010, Professor Pecotich retired and was awarded the title of Senior Honorary Research Fellow, which he held until his death in 2012.
