What did your students get up to in the summer holidays? The ConocoPhillips Science Experience allowed 164 high school students from 75 schools across the state to enjoy "an amazing and eye-opening experience" at UWA's Crawley Campus over three fun science-filled days in January.

The students, all about to enter year 10 or 11, took part in various interactive workshops and listened to talks from passionate scientists and students who had expertise in a variety of science disciplines.

Among the activities, which were described as "educational and fun at the same time", students tested their fitness, discovered how maths could help them win games, and tried their hand at some engineering projects. They also learnt what they can do to protect our environment, explored the excitement of chemical reactions, found out what an animal biologist really does and even solved a crime!

Students enjoyed the opportunity to "understand what uni is like" and found out more about the wide range of science courses and careers there are available.
