The organising committee welcomed delegates to the 12th Australasian Environmental Isotope Conference which was held at the University Club on the beautiful grounds of The University of Western Australia, Perth, from Wed 10th July to Fri 12th July.
The conference provided a relaxed forum for Australian scientists to meet and discuss advances, applications and integration of stable isotopes in all aspects of the environmental sciences with the guiding principle of the meeting to encourage presentation, communication and discussion of isotope related research results carried out in academia and industry which address significant environmental or paleoenvironmental questions.
More than 70 participants, including several international researchers, attended the meeting experiencing an exciting
programme of 33 oral and 12 poster presentations under the following major themes,
Terrestrial and aquatic stable isotope ecology
Isotopes in global change science – palaeoenvironment and palaeoclimate
Applied geochronology in environmental studies
Isotopes in hydrology and hydrogeology
Frontiers and advances in isotope techniques
