Four UWA students and graduates have earned highly sought after graduate placements with the State's leading advertising agencies.

Offered through The Communications Council WA , the placements consist of a three-month full-time paid internship designed to give graduates valuable industry experience.

The successful students and graduates beat more than 80 program participants in a rigorous selection process comprising the answering of a brief and completion of an eight-week course. In total, only eight program participants received graduate placements.

UWA students and graduates awarded placements for 2014 include: Mitchell Crowe-Hardy at 303Lowe, Ashley Miller at Gatecrasher, Andrea Bradbury at Meerkats, and Darcy White at The Brand Agency.

Darcy White, who recently completed a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (Communication Studies), was also named top student of The Graduate Program in 2013.

The Communications Council's State Manager Danielle Norrish said The Graduate Program provided participants with valuable industry experience.

"Over the past eight weeks graduates have spent one night a week at one of each of the seven agencies participating in the program including 303Lowe, Gatecrasher, Longtail, Marketforce, Meerkats, The Brand Agency and Trilogy. Each week graduates spent time with industry leaders learning about the core disciplines of the industry and the agencies first hand," Ms Norrish said.

The Graduate Program Lead and Managing Partner of SHEDcsc ReneĢ Migliore congratulated the graduates at The Communications Council's end-of-year celebration, held on 31 November 2013.
