While the first three days of the Ashes Test match at the WACA may be sold out, cricket fans can still see some of England and Western Australia's leading players in action at The University of Western Australia.

The ECB England Lions team will take on a WACA XI during a three-day match at UWA's James Oval , starting on Tuesday, December 10 at 10.30am.

The England Lions team may include Australian-born Sam Robson, tipped as a potential future England star, along with established Test player Tim Bresnan. Current internationals Jos Buttler, Chris Jordan, and Danny Briggs are also likely to play.

The WACA XI could include Michael Beer, Tom Triffitt and Nathan Rimmington, along with a number of contracted players keen to catch the eye of State selectors. A couple of WA "young guns" will also be given the chance to prove their worth.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the match, just days before the third Ashes test gets under way in Perth on Friday.

While on campus, food and drinks will be available for purchase from the Guild Village Cafe or University Club or the Matilda Bay tearooms. Plan your journey by checking UWA's parking and transport information page . Please note the venue is not licensed and is smoke and alcohol-free.
