It's been an extremely busy year for our Prospective Students Office (PSO), and there have been a few changes to the team in recent months. With some familiar and not-so-familar names in the mix (so to speak), we thought this would be a great opportunity for you to meet our new-look team...

Earlier this year after bidding a fond farewell to Kerina Puttman, Naseem Mkandawire joined the PSO as a Prospective Student Adviser. With previous roles in both our Undergraduate and Postgraduate Admissions teams, for those who have met her in recent months, we're sure you'll agree that Naseem's expert knowledge about UWA courses and admission requirements, as well as her friendly, helpful nature, are an asset to the team.

Lovely Ruth Kastrati recently commenced maternity leave*, and in turn we welcomed another new Prospective Student Adviser, Dr Danica van de Velde. Danica is a former UWA Arts and PhD student, and has most recently been lecturing English and Cultural Studies units in the Faculty of Arts. She is super bright and bubbly, and has already settled well into our small team, taking on her new role with gusto.

Last but certainly not least, we can't forget to mention the delightful Alison Chan, who is looking forward to another challenging, but fun year ahead.

Many of you may already know Julie Peterkin, who (following a brief sojourn at Public Affairs) recently returned to her role as Manager of the Prospective Students Office after Angela Reimers' departure to take on a new position at University Hall. Julie is very happy to be back and will be looking at developing exciting prospective student events (and the all-important Career Advisers Day) in the coming year. Look out for details of these in future editions of Teachers' Prospects.

Sharing the Manager role with Julie now is Narelle Molloy, who brings a wealth of experience and knowledge following her most recent UWA role as University Marketing Manager. Narelle's main focus will be on prospective student communications and publications, including the production of the 2015 Undergraduate Course Guide.

We will soon be finalizing our 2014 event schedule, and with the diary already starting to fill up, it's never too early to start booking your school visits and expos with us.

Along with our friendly and knowledgeable Admissions Centre staff, the Prospective Students Office is here to help, so please don't hesitate to call to book a visit; or make enquiries about admission requirements, UWA courses, and prospective student events:
