National Breast Cancer Foundation Research Fellow Dr Jennifer Stone has recently joined the Centre for Genetic Origins of Health and Disease. Jennifer completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne which examined the genetic and environmental determinants of mammographic density. Since her PhD, she has helped secure nearly $4M in project funding and has independently secured over $0.5M in awards and fellowships.  A statistician by training, she has conducted a number of important analyses that have provided new information on the strengths of genetic and environmental factors as determinants of mammographically dense and non-dense areas. Jennifer is also trained in the measurement of mammographic density and has a keen interest in maximizing its potential as a screening tool that could be used to identify and target women at high risk of breast cancer.
