Congratulations to Lucile Queau (COFS PhD student) who received the 2013 PPO/IMarEST Western Australian Marine Science Postgraduate Award last night.

The Awards are sponsored by the UNESCO IOC Perth Office and the Western Australian Branch of IMarEST and have been established to recognise students who produce excellence in marine related research and training.  The Awards are based on the submission of an Abstract in the first instance, and selected students are then called to present their research at the Awards Evening.  The presentations are assessed and the Awards presented during the Awards Evening.

Lucile first arrived at COFS in March 2010 as a Visiting Researcher, and then became a PhD student in January 2011.  Her PhD project is on the fatigue of steel catenary risers for deepwater platforms, and she is supervised by Assistant Professor Mehrdad Kimiaei and Professor Mark Randolph. Further information on Lucile and her project can be found on her student profile page on the COFS website at www.cofs.uwa.edu.au.
