The format for the 2013 Career Advisers Day was altered slightly to previous years' events to provide a more interactive experience for attendees, and as a result, the feedback received has been extremely positive.

In addition to hearing presentations on UWA courses, entry pathways and residential colleges, participants had the opportunity to choose from a wide range of hands-on workshops covering areas as diverse as archaeology, business, dentistry, engineering, visual arts and music. From trying their hand at playing Balinese (gamelan) music, drawing or virtual dentistry (pictured), to learning how to manage an oil spill or develop community-driven business projects with EnactusUWA, career advisers were able to learn about UWA from a student's point of view as well.

A dedicated expo, which was provided during morning tea and lunch, allowed attendees to gather more specific course-related information and liaise with faculty staff and academics. The day finished on a high note with refreshments and a viewing of architecture, landscape architecture and visual arts students' works at the Cullity Gallery.

Feedback received from participants included comments such as "wonderful opportunity to gain more career and enrolment information," "loved the hands-on approach and access to specific info workshops," and "enjoyed the day more than last year; the opportunity to be interactive was a bonus."
