Rock Art archaeologist, Adjunct Associate Professor June Ross from The University of Western Australia, will reveal the findings of a three-year archaeological project in the northwest Kimberley at a public lecture on Thursday 15 November 2012.

In delivering The Kimberley Foundation's (KFA) fourth annual public lecture, Professor Ross will focus on answering some of the central questions concerning the timing of the original settlement of the region, the chronology of the rock art and the significance of the changes identified in the archaeology and environmental records.

Dr Ross is co-chief investigator of KFA-sponsored Australian Research Council project Change & Continuity: Chronology, archaeology and art in the North Kimberley .

Dr Ross, entered rock art archaeology from a background in art and teaching.  She has researched, taught and published extensively on Aboriginal artworks, and has undertaken fieldwork throughout central and northern Australia.
