The 2013 Good Universities Guide to MBA and Management Courses has awarded The University of Western Australia's Business School five-star ratings in four categories - more than any other business school in Western Australia or the Group of Eight.

The recently released ratings give the UWA Business School and its MBA five stars for corporate links, size of management faculty, academic qualifications, and graduate salaries.

In addition, the Graduate Management Association of Australia (GMAA) awarded the UWA Business School's MBA a five-star rating, making the School one of just eight institutions in Australia-and the only one in Western Australia-to achieve the top rating. The GMAA is a national association of individuals with postgraduate management qualifications, and each year assesses MBA courses in Australia for their standard and value.

Dean of the UWA Business School, Winthrop Professor Phil Dolan, said the outstanding results reflected the School's investment in its MBA and postgraduate courses.

‘This year, we introduced the Industry Partner Program  (IPP) which offers corporate partners and organisations the opportunity to engage with our MBA students through guest lecturers, case studies, boardroom lunches, and mentoring programs,' he said.

‘The IPP has been extremely well received by both students and organisations, and plays an important role in exposing our students to real-life business situations and unparalleled networking opportunities.

‘We are pleased our MBA has been rated so highly by independent organisations, and look forward to continuing to strengthen the School's postgraduate courses over coming years.'

The UWA Business School's MBA has been offered since 1973, producing graduates-such as Dr Michael Chaney AO, UWA Chancellor and Chairman of NAB and Woodside-who have become industry leaders both nationally and internationally.
