UWA Friends of the Grounds' 2013 centenary calendar, Then and Now: Images from the Archives and the photographic competitions , provides a wonderful memento for our University's centenary.

It is the fourth calendar to celebrate the beautiful environments of the University's Crawley, Claremont and Albany campuses and the UWA Sports Park. Staff, students and the general public were invited to submit photos of gardens, buildings, people, peacocks, sweeping views, hidden corners, majestic trees and much loved icons - and the results have been spectacular.

The first and second calendars in 2010 and 2011, feature images from the 200 entries received in the ‘Four Seasons at UWA' photographic competition. The 2010 cover features the winning photograph by Ray Scott for his photo, 'Claremont Campus at Night'.

The 2012 calendar showcased photographs taken for the 2011 photographic competition, ‘A Century of Seasons'. Danielle O'Leary's winning entry, ‘Winthrop Reflection', graced the cover.

Rachel Craven and her Friends' calendar working party took a different perspective for the 2013 centenary calendar, which includes a fascinating mix of recent photographs complemented by black and white images from the University Archives. A ‘little planet' image by staff member, Associate Professor Paul Bourke, was selected as the cover shot for the 2013 calendar.

The images submitted to the FoG competitions have provided a colourful photographic resource for University publications including Christmas cards, postcards and the perpetual diary 100 Treasures from UWA: Celebrating 100 Years.

The 2013 calendar is on sale at the Visitor's Information Centre and The University Club or can be ordered via Friends of the Grounds .
