ARC Postdoctoral Fellow Assistant Professor Shazzad Hossain, ARC Future Fellow Professor Mark Cassidy and their co-authors were awared the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Best Civil Engineering Paper Award at Houston's annual Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) for 2012.

Their paper, Foundation modelling and asssessment in the new ISO Standard 19905-1 (paper number OTC 23521 2012), provides a summary of the most recent ISO guidelines for site specific (geotechnical) assessment of mobile offshore jack-up rigs.

The paper is co-authored by Patrick Wong (ExxonMobil), Jack Templeton (Sage USA), Okky Purwana (Keppel Offshore and Marine, Singapore), Hugo Hofstede (GustoMSC Engineers) and Chris Martin (Oxford University).

Prize-winning authors were presented with their award at a ceremony held at OTC-Reliant Centre in Houston, Texas, USA, on Monday 30th April 2012.  Shazzad, Okky, Jack and Patrick attended the ceremony and received their awards.

This award is given annually to the paper that has been decided by the ASCE OTC Program Support Committee panel as the best paper published in OTC in the civil engineering discipline.
