The Centre for WA History at The University of Western Australia will be holding the second of a series of seminars to assist primary and secondary school teachers with their implementation of the Australian Curriculum: History, in June 2012.

Academics from UWA will present from their areas of specialisation at the following seminars:

  • ‘Investigating the Ancient Past' (suited to Year 7 teachers), presented by Professor Alistair Paterson

    Monday 11 June, 3-5pm, Webb Lecture Theatre

  • ‘Australia as a Nation' (Year 6), presented by Associate Professor Jeremy Martens

    Tuesday 12 June, 4-6pm, Gentilli Lecture Theatre

  • ‘The Vikings' (Year 8), presented by Dr Shane McLeod

    Wednesday 13 June, 4-6pm, Webb Lecture Theatre

  • '1000 years of Classical Civilisations: The Greco-Roman World' (Year 8), presented by Dr Michael Champion

    Wednesday, 13 June, 4-6pm, Gentilli Lecture Theatre

  • ‘Post-war Migration Experiences' (Year 10), presented by Winthrop Professor Jenny Gregory

    Thursday, 14 June, 4-6pm, Webb Lecture Theatre

  • ‘Community and Remembrance' (Year 3), presented by Dr Cindy Lane

    Friday, 15 June, 4-6pm, Webb Lecture Theatre

The first round of seminars held in February this year were attended by teachers from primary and high schools; metropolitan and regional areas; and government and independent schools. The feedback received from attendees was overwhelmingly positive.
