The Faculty of Education’s Building Strong Beginnings Forum at the UWA Club on Thursday 22 March 2012 brought together 90 participants from the Government, Independent and Catholic sectors in Western Australia. The forum focussed on assessing learning from early childhood through to primary settings. Assessment is always a much discussed topic in education and this forum explored a range of areas such as ‘identifying knowledge

in science’ with Associate Professor Christine Howitt, through to use info about the talk by Christine Merrill from Centre for Education Monitoring, Durham University, UK. The presentations kept the enthusiastic group of educators thinking, talking and moving for the duration of the forum.
