Winthrop Professor Mark Randolph received the ARC Discovery Outstanding Researcher Award (DORA) as part of his successful application for a Discovery Project Grant.

Mark is the Chief Investigator of the project Dynamic evolution of submarine slides and consequences for offshore developments.  Professor Alexander Puzrin (ETH Zurich) and Assistant Professor Dong Wang (COFS) are the Partner Investigators.

The DORAs (under the Discovery Projects Scheme) aim to provide opportunities to benefit, enhance and expedite the overall project for mid to late career research-only and teaching and research academics and were only introduced by the ARC this year.

The Discovery Projects scheme, under the National Competitive Grants program, supports fundamental research, research training and cross-disciplinary and collaborative initiatives to build capacity in Australia's national innovation system.
