The UWA Business School's teaching and research staff were recognised for their outstanding achievements in an awards ceremony held earlier this month. The Faculty Teaching and Research Awards recognised the contributions of staff during 2011.

Dean of the UWA Business School, Winthrop Professor Phil Dolan, congratulated the winners and thanked all staff for their hard work.

‘The contributions of our staff over the last year have allowed us to continue to be one of the leading business schools in the region, offering courses of a very high standard and conducting world-class research with far-reaching impact,' he said.

During the ceremony, teaching awards were presented to: Steve McShane (Postgraduate coursework), Christine Soo (Undergraduate coursework--Large class), Roger Smith (Adjunct lecturer), Debbie Gilchrist (Early career), Candice Lamb (Tutor), Kaye Haddrill (Postgraduate coursework--commendation), Calvin Coyles (Tutor-commendation) and Paul Lloyd (Service award for outstanding contributions to student learning).

Winners of the School's research awards were also recognised. These included Sharon Parker and Jing Yu for Dean's Best Paper Prizes, Alex Luksyte, Leandro Magnusson and Stijn Masschelein for the Business School Ahern Early Career Researcher Portfolio Awards, and Gillian Yeo for a Dean's Research Fellowship. The School's numerous winners of Australian Research Council grants and fellowships were also acknowledged.

The Faculty Teaching and Research Awards were held on 3 April 2012.
