On Thursday April 26 Information Services is launching a new service which allows UWA staff to place requests via Get It for books and articles held in print in any of the UWA Library collections. These will be supplied either to your desktop via Get It (in the case of copies) or to your mailbox (in the case of printed books).

The delivery of books component of this intralibrary service was trialled in 2011 with the Business School. This trial proved to be successful and as a result it was decided to extend the service as follows:

  • Use Get It as the mechanism for staff to request items
  • Allow staff to request articles as well as books from the UWA collections
  • Make the service available to all UWA staff and allow them to request items from any Library

It is hoped that this new system will:

  • Make intralibrary lending and document delivery simpler to understand
  • Provide a more equitable service to all staff
  • Increase the use of IS collections while providing a service that is convenient and useful for UWA staff.

This new service is being run as a 3 month pilot to gauge the level of activity generated by this extended service.

Please see the Get It web page for more information, or to place a request.
