The Graduate Management Association (GMA) is readying itself for an exciting year ahead with the election of a new president and vice-president.

Thomas Murrell, UWA MBA graduate and CEO of 8M Media and Communications, was elected President of the GMA, with Tracy Deveugle-Frink, a fellow UWA MBA graduate and Senior Consultant with Ernst & Young, elected as Vice-President.

‘This is an exciting time for the GMA as we have just developed a new strategic plan for the next five years and aspire to be vibrant, relevant and meaningful to every current and past postgraduate student of the UWA Business School,' Murrell said.

‘As we celebrate the 100 year milestone for UWA in 2013, one of our key strategies will be to increase engagement with our alumni from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.'

The GMA is the peak body representing alumni and current students from postgraduate courses at The University of Western Australia's Business School.

The GMA was established in 1976 with a mission to create infinite links between current and past postgraduate students and alumni of the UWA Business School, the business community and community at large, both in Australia and internationally.

UWA Chancellor Dr Michael Chaney AO is the Association's Patron and the organisation holds monthly networking events, professional development programs, Up Close and Personal Lunches and a signature black tie dinner each year.
