Two new prestigious scholarships will be available to students at
The University of Western Australia's Business School
in 2012.
The BDO Undergraduate Scholarship is designed to assist second year Bachelor of Commerce students studying a major in Accounting and/or Finance, and is assessed on academic excellence. The duration of the scholarship is for their second and thrid year of study.
Additionally, the John Willinge Scholarship will assist first year Bachelor of Commerce students who demonstrate academic achievement and leadership potential. The scholarship is provided with the support of John Willinge and Melina Higgins. John is a UWA graduate, UWA Business School Board member and founder of Alverstoke Group LLC.
‘These new scholarships will complement our range of existing scholarships and provide additional financial assistance for high achieving students,' said Winthrop Professor Phil Dolan, Dean, UWA Business School. ‘We would like to thank our generous sponsors and donors for their support of our students.'
The following is a list of scholarships available in 2012. Unless otherwise stated, all scholarship applications close on 24 February, 2012.

Undergraduate scholarships

| Macquarie Group Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship | Assists meritorious students who display leadership potential to complete the final 48 points of the Bachelor of Commerce | $6,000 |
| Mining Leaders Scholarship | Available to students undertaking the final year of a relevant undergraduate double degree program. Applicants must demonstrate strong academic achievement, experience or interest in the mining industry, and leadership skills or potential. | $15,000 |

| Stan and Jean Perron Honours Scholarship | Available to full-time, domestic students undertaking honours as part of the Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Economics, and whose research examines ethics and/or entrepreneurship. | $15,000 |
| Victor Raeburn Honours Scholarship | Provided by the BT Financial Group in honour of the late Victor Raeburn, a respected employee of BT Financial Group. The scholarship is available to full-time, domestic students who have demonstrated academic achievement and are completing a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) or Bachelor of Commerce (Honours). | $10,000 |
