Rebecca Sullivan was recruited as a cadet through the Aboriginal Cadetship Program at the Department of Child Protection in November 2011. She completed her first year of study in a Bachelor of Psychology degree at the University of Western Australia in 2011 and is currently undertaking her placement at the Perth office with the guidance and support of her supervisors, Anette Bohm and Alana Egerton-Green.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here at the Department as it has provided me with invaluable skills and knowledge appropriate to my degree. It has given me a sense of direction towards what I would like to achieve after completing my course. Everyone here in the Perth office has made me feel very welcome and made the experience worthwhile and enjoyable’’  Bec Sullivan said.

Indigenous Students at The University of Western Australia are taking part in cadetships at Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton, Bureau of Meteorology and others.
