CMCA will today launch the latest addition to its suite of facilities, unveiling the Bioimaging Facility at CMCA@QEII, which features the founding facilities of the National Imaging Facility (NIF) in Western Australia.

Opening of the Facility cements CMCA's unique position nationwide as both a node of NIF and its sister Characterisation capability, the Australian Microscopy and Microanalysis Research Facility (AMMRF).

The multispectral imaging and microtomography instruments are primarily focussed on pre-clinical imaging of small animals, but will allow researchers to image plants and materials as well.

The Facility will be bolstered by the purchase of a high-end, pre-clinical MRI due to be installed in 2013.

Access to the facilities is via online registration available on the CMCA website .
