Neither Here nor There:  Why Malaysia is the Wrong Solution is the title of a forum to be held at The University of Western Australia tomorrow.

The annual ‘Out of the Dark' forum is organised by the Centre for Advocacy, Support and Education for Refugees (CASE) and the Coalition for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees (CARAD).

It will be opened by UWA's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alan Robson.

Writer, broadcaster and former ALP National President Dr Barry Jones, one of Australia's ‘Living National Treasures', will lead the discussion.

Guest speakers are Dr David Corlett , creator of the SBS documentary Go Back Where You Came From; and Dato' M Ramachelvam , eminent Malaysian barrister who chairs the Law Reform and Special Areas Committee, and the Migrants, Refugees and Immigration Affairs Committee of the Bar Council of Malaysia.

Dr Jones will focus on the political aspect of the asylum seeker debate, Dr Corlett will give the humanitarian viewpoint and Dato' M Ramachelvam will offer legal and personal views.

The forum will be held in UWA's Winthrop Hall on Wednesday 2 November from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
