James Ledger's orchestral piece 'Chronicles', 2009 continues its success.

Following on from his recent 2011 Art Music Award in the category of ‘Work of the Year: Orchestral' James' composition ‘Chronicles', 2009 has now been voted the Classical Masterpiece in The Monthly magazine's '20 Australian Masterpieces since 2000'.  James is in esteemed company, winners in other categories include, for Television, Chris Lilley for his drama ‘Summer Heights High', 2007 and in popular music, Sarah Blasko for ‘As Day Follows Night', 2009.

The West Australian Symphony Orchestra will perform 'Chronicles', 2009 at a Gala Concert on Tuesday 25 October as part of the Commonwealth Festival Perth, to coincide with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2011.

School of Music is delighted to acknowledge James' award and is proud to have him as a member of its teaching staff.
