As a Senior Clinical Psychologist in Paediatric Rehabilitation, I’m involved in the provision of assessment and treatment of children with acquired brain injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.

I wanted to be a psychologist right from my undergraduate days. Paediatric psychology was always a focus; however I did not transition to this field until much later. By combining psychology and criminology, I explored the idea of working as a court psychologist, but decided this was a lot more glamorous on TV than it would be in real life!

I’ve been lucky enough to combine my career with my love of travel and have recently returned from a five-year sojourn working in Calgary, Canada. Whilst there, I initially worked for two and a half years at the Vocational Rehabilitation and Research Institute (VRRI) assisting adults with developmental disabilities. I then accepted a position as a Clinical Psychologist in the Neurosciences program at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

This presented me with the opportunity to focus my attention on working with children and adolescents, providing clinical psychology services to children and their families across a range of clinical disciplines including neurology, neuromotor (CP), neuromuscular, myelomeningcele, and infant services.
