Located near Pingelly, 2 hours south-east of Perth, the UWA Future Farm 2050 is a research farm developed as self-supporting, sustainable, clean, green and ethical - a best practice farm for 2050.
From Tuesday 13 September until Friday 7 October the Future Farm invites you to come along to the Science Library foyer and discover the long-term vision for this ambitious endeavour and the way the farm is being utilised for research in several of the University's faculties.
Projects include:
Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts
- ALVA house
- Future sheep shed
Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences and the UWA Institute of Agriculture
- Reducing emissions from livestock ( School of Animal Biology )
- Drought-hardy, carbon conscious, grazing systems ( School of Animal Biology ; CSIRO )
- "No-till cropping" ( School of Plant Biology )
Western Australia Department of Agriculture and Food
- Maternal efficiency in sheep
