The 2011 Careers in Geoscience event which was held at NIB stadium on Tuesday 16 th August was attended by 73 of UWA School of Earth and Environments (SEE) undergraduate student.

The CET represented the school and UWA by talking to high school students and university students from across the metropolitan area about their options for 2012 (and beyond) in geosciences.  Prof. Mike Dentith and Assoc. Prof. Geoff Batt described the new framework for our Bachelor of Science degree and how this enables a broader experience for our 2012 geoscience undergraduates.

Also attending the UWA/CET booth was a SEG student chapter representative, Stephanie Martin, whose advice to high school students about their year 11 and 12 choices was invaluable.

Along with UWA, there were information booths from CSIRO, Curtin University, The Department of Mining and Petroleum, Woodside, Chevron, Integra Mining and Digirock, to name only a few.
