The President of the World Bank, Mr Robert Zoellick visited The University of Western Australia today as part of the Australian American Leadership Dialogue being held in Perth.

Mr Zoellick was met by the Deputy Dean of the UWA Business School Professor Izan Izan as he arrived to speak on trade and economics to members of the AALD's Young Leadership Dialogue.

The AALD is a bipartisan diplomatic initiative which brings together Australian and American leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest.

AALD conferences alternate between Washington DC and a major Australian city.  Leaders from government, enterprise, media, education and the community are meeting in Perth to help define the bilateral relationship between Australia and the United States.

Participants include those who have already held leadership roles in their country, as well as those likely to do so in the future.
