Gatan Holds First EELS School and Symposium in Australia

Gatan organized the first formal EELS School in Australia at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, RMIT. The school was held on June 7-9, 2011 in collaboration with Thomson Scientific Instruments.

The training program was managed by Gatan Application Specialist Alan Maigné and featured world-renown EELS experts: Prof.Dougal Mc.Culloh from RMIT, Prof.Vicki Keast from the University of Newcastle, and Prof.Martin Saunders from the University of Western Australia.

The school attracted 16 participants from all regions of Australia. The extensive training covered EFTEM and STEM-EELS acquisition and analysis with a combination of computer, microscope and lecture session.
