Welcome to the first issue of the Parents' E-newsletter! The e-newsletter is designed for parents to receive regular updates on UWA courses, news and events for prospective students.

Who are the people running this e-newsletter?

A lot of people probably don't know who or what the Admissions Centre and Prospective Students Office are, or what exactly it is that we do within the university. We process applications to commence study at UWA and answer enquiries relating to admissions into university.

The majority of these enquiries are from high-school students and concerned parents wanting to know everything from how the TISC preference system works, to whether they will meet the subject prerequisites for the degree they want to study, and what they can do if they haven't got the ATAR score they anticipated.

The Prospective Students Office visit schools throughout WA to speak to students about UWA courses, subject selection, and life at university. Prospective students are also welcome to visit the university and speak one-on-one with a Prospective Students Adviser.

We understand that, to people on the outside looking in, universities can sometimes seem like impenetrable fortresses, and it's easy to assume that you're just a number in a queue.  Our job in the Admissions Centre and Prospective Students Office is to ensure that there is always a human voice on the other end of the line, as people try to negotiate what is, for them, one of the most definitive moments of their lives (so far!).

If you have an enquiry about studying at UWA please contact us on 6488 2477. For admission queries please head to askUWA and your query will be answered within 48 hours.
