John Mateer also reports...

"In the past month I have given a readingĀ at the Poetry Library of Stockholm Public Library, and in the next three or so weeks will read in London at the Shearsman Reading Series , Lisbon (at the launch of a translation of my selected poems at Bar na Cave) and Singapore (World Voices at Arts House).

A limited edition of selected poems, selected and translated by Miguel Martins, will be published by Lingua Morta, and will be launched in Lisbon at Bar na Cave on the 25th of March.

In January an interview with me was published on the US-based website Molossus , a site dedicated to poetry and translation.

In May, the Australian edition of my book of poems about the Portuguese Empire, Southern Barbarians will be published by Giramondo . Details of the launch are forthcoming.

I have been invited to be a writer-in-residence at El Gouna in Egypt in June, where I will work on a book of poems concerned with the Islamic influence on the Indian Ocean and Iberia.

I will also continue to use my fellowship at the Westerly Centre to further my research in preparation for an anthology of poetry of the Indian Ocean region."
