In-house designer at UWA Publishing, Anna Maley-Fadgyas, has made the shortlist for this year's Australian Publishing Association's Book Design Awards.
Anna was shortlisted in the best designed cover of the year category for her design of the book

features the work of 19th century photographer John Joseph Dwyer. Dwyer's photography reveals the evolution of Australia's Goldfields - its wealth, rapid growth and the subtle changes these invoked. A stunningly crafted book,

blends Dwyer's poignant photos with six essays and a short story by prize-winning author Joan London.
Director of UWA Publishing, Terri-ann White said she was delighted with the shortlisting.
"It showcases the high quality of work being done here at UWA Publishing," she said.
Anna was shortlisted in the general illustrated book category in 2010 for her overall design of the book

UWA Publishing won the best book cover design award in 2009 with the cover for
Martin Harrison's collection of poetry, Wild Bees: New and Selected Poems
.
The Australian Publishing Association's Book Design Awards will be announced on May 19 in Sydney, during the Sydney Writers' festival.
