A balmy summer evening was the perfect backdrop for the launch of the UWA School of Music Power of Music 2011 Concert Series.  On the lawn outside the Eileen Joyce Studio last evening, the School of Music patrons, staff, students and friends celebrated the unveiling of this year's innovative programme.

The 2011 concert series is one of the richest and diverse yet and the Power of Music is the perfect banner under which to present this series.  Keyed Up! and Artistry! include performances by internationally renowned artists as well as talented School of Music students and staff.   There are also some innovative events: a Wagnerian Film Festival based around the films of Tony Palmer, Junior Music School Teddy Bears picnics, plus a rich blend of music presented in the Thursday lunchtime concerts showcasing the many talents of the staff and students at the School.  A fine programme of academic events in the International Research Seminar Series, featuring international and national speakers of repute, is another highlight.

The ambitious Power of Music 2011 Concert Series promises "uniquely powerful and meaningful experiences" for all.  Bookings for Artistry!, Keyed Up! and the Film Festival open at BOCS on Wednesday 9 February.  Other events can be booked through [email protected] .
