Author and archaeologist Peter McAllister will examine the pressing modern problem of "Why are males today such losers?" in a public lecture in January at The University of Western Australia.

An adjunct lecturer in UWA's Faculty of Life and Physical Sciences, Mr McAllister last year published Manthropology:  The Science of the Inadequate Modern Male.

In this quirky, scientific lecture he draws on archaeology, anthropology and evolutionary psychology to confirm the awful truth: every man in history, back to the dawn of the species, did everything better, faster, stronger and smarter than any man today.

"Deadbeat dads, two-bit terrorists, mediocre metrosexuals, sissy-boy strongmen - Mr McAllister lays them all ruthlessly bare as he debunks every masculine modern-day claim to fame, even proving by biomechanical analysis that a Neanderthal woman would beat Arnold Schwarzenegger in an arm-wrestling match."
