Inter-Cultural Music Performance

School of Music first year students John Barton and Fleuranne Brockway, second year students Alyssa Weinstein and Jarred Yapp and fourth year student Andrew Hislop took part in last weekend’s highly successful production of Satu Langit (‘One Sky’).

Satu Langit is an international inter-cultural collaboration organised to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Western Australia – East Java sister state relationship. The production was directed by the renowned WA choreographer Chrissie Parrott and featured distinguished Indonesian dancers Didik Nini Thowok and Agung Tri Yulianto, as well as a talented company of local dancers.

Performing in a Javanese gamelan ensemble, the School of Music students provided the musical accompaniment for the event, which forms part of the Indonesia Festival currently being celebrated in Perth.
