Top gas process engineering students from UWA and guests from Chevron attended a Gas Process Engineering Student Event at the University Club of Western Australia.

The guest of honour was Colin Beckett, General Manager for Gorgon, currently the largest gas project in world and Executive Sponsor of the Chevron University Partnership Program.

Students were treated to a presentation about Chevron’s projects including Gorgon, Wheatstone and other exploration in Australia.  Chevron executives also explained in some detail Chevron’s Graduate Development Program, including a training and development and mentoring.

Students were given the opportunity to present their work and talk to Chevron staff over drinks and canapés. In total, there were eight posters on display. A Chevron contact commented that ‘there seemed to be a lot of work put into the posters and they felt the night was a great success.’

The event was initiated by Prof Eric May, Deputy Director Centre for Energy and Chevron Chair in Gas Process Engineering.  Also integral to the event were key partners, Tim Shanahan, Director, Energy and Minerals Institute and Jill Stajduhar from the WA Energy Research Alliance.
