Dr Ela Eroglu
Tuesday, 28 September 2010

The Centre for Energy is proud to announce the arrival of Dr Ela Eroglu, a specialist in the field of energy technologies with an emphasis in renewable bio-based energy processes.

Dr Eroglu, Visiting Research Fellow and soon to be appointed as a Research Assistant Professor, joined the research team at the Centre for Energy in September 2010.

Dr Eroglu comes from the University of California, Berkeley where she did her Postdoctoral research at on the hydrocarbon production from several algae and the determination of cellular side-products by developing novel techniques.

She received her PhD in Chemical Engineering (METU, Turkey). Her research focused on biohydrogen production by utilization of several waste materials as well as the bioremediation techniques of those wastes.

Dr Eroglu's research has lead to several international publications, conference proceedings and international patent applications.

Dr Eroglu is excited about her research into the development of renewable energy technologies on “two-phase anaerobic digestion process for biogas production” that has been supported by the ARC Linkage Grants.
