Nominations from schools for The University of Western Australia's Excellence Awards and Humanitarian Excellence Awards will close on Friday 29 October this year.

In its commitment to recognising and celebrating excellence, the University is pleased to offer an Excellence Award to one student from every senior secondary school in Western Australia. Students nominated for an Excellence Award will have been identified by their school as the student most likely to succeed at university.

A total of six Humanitarian Excellence Awards, for students who arrived in Australia on a Humanitarian Visa, will be offered in 2011. There is no limit to the number of nominations a school can make for the Humanitarian Excellence Awards, which are based on academic merit.

Recipients of both awards receive $500 and a guaranteed offer of a place at UWA in the first round of offers (independently of the ATAR requirement for that course) provided they meet the University's minimum entrance requirements. Exceptions do apply for Music, Medicine and Dentistry courses.

Full terms and conditions for the Awards, as well as the application forms, can be found on the Scholarships website . Alternatively, please contact the UWA Prospective Students Office on 6488 2477 for further information.
