The UWA Albany Centre held its annual Open Day on Friday August 27 for students, parents and anyone interested in finding out all that UWA Albany has to offer. Over 300 people took the opportunity to explore the Centre and discover the courses on offer.

"UWA Albany Open Day was the perfect chance for visitors to learn more about what The University of Western Australia student life is all about. The Albany Centre has a variety of courses and study options, including opportunities for people who haven't completed high school and want to pursue new directions.  The UWA Albany Centre offers something for just about everyone," said acting director Jenni Flottmann.

Advisers from UWA Perth were on hand to discuss career pathways. Visitors were also able to view course displays where UWA staff provided information on entry requirements, courses, study options and scholarships.

Information was also available for the university preparation program Uni Smart Start . This course, unique to Albany, helps to develop skills needed for successful university study.

The student common room, affectionately known as the dungeon, proved a popular place for visitors to get a first hand look at the recreational facilities available. Table tennis, pool as well as exercise bikes allow students to unwind and take some time out from studying.
