The University of Western Australia Business School is pleased to announce that the 2010 Shann Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Glenn Stevens, Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Dean of the UWA Business School, Professor Tracey Horton, said that Glenn Stevens' lecture would stimulate important discussion around economic policy.  ‘Previous Shann Memorial lectures have sparked original and compelling debates, and I'm looking forward to another insightful presentation this year by Mr Stevens,' she said.

Glenn Stevens has been Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia since September 2006, having previously held other senior positions at the Bank.

Mr Stevens is Chairman of the Reserve Bank Board and Payments System Board, and Chairman of the Council of Financial Regulators.  In addition, he is Chairman of the Financial Markets Foundation for Children, and a Director of The Anika Foundation.

The Shann Memorial Lecture is an annual event supported by The University of Western Australia and the Economic Society of Australia.  Professor Edward Shann (1884-1935) was a foundation professor at UWA and the first occupant of the Chair of Economics.

The event will be followed by networking and refreshments.
