Helen Close performance and lifestyle coach presented two workshops on building resilience in times of change: Strategies to reduce stress and enhance performance and lifestyle.

"There is a new culture developing at The UWA Oceans Institute. Along with excitement in the creation of a new entity there can be challenges. Some people revel in change, others find it stressful. How you deal with the varying levels of uncertainty determines your productivity"

Research shows there are effective strategies to build resilience including understanding

  • What creates stress, its early warning signs and quick useful responses
  • The value and limitations of workplace stress
  • The power of your emotions, your thought and language
  • How to build resilience, take control over yourself at work and be more creative and effective

The two sessions of three hours in total were well attended by staff and students of the Oceans Institute. Lunch was provided during which informal discussion continued.
