UWA is taking part this week in The Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition (AOG) at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from Wednesday 24 to Friday 26 March, inclusive.
WA ERA and the Faculties of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics and Natural and Agricultural Sciences will be representing UWA, alongside over 500 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services for the oil and gas industry.

This event is an excellent opportunity to meet and engage with people in the profession. Exhibitors cover the entire spectrum of the industry, from exploration and production technology to gas processing, pipelines, offshore services, engineering, design and constructions. The 2010 exhibition even features specific zones for Subsea Technology, Drilling and Downhole, Education & Research, Innovation and Health and Safety.

In addition to the opportunity for industry networking and sharing of knowledge, the 2010 Expo sees the launch of the AOG Careers Day to appeal to the ‘next generation' of oil and gas engineers, scientists and technicians. This outstanding initiative combines presentations to secondary and tertiary students, along with the ‘face to face' time necessary to gain a better understanding of career opportunities presented by the industry.

Students will be invited into the exhibition zones to talk to industry professionals and university staff, where we will greet them to advise on the undergraduate and postgraduate courses and higher degree by research opportunities available in our find Faculty. To date there are already 300 high school students and large numbers of tertiary students signed up.

Entry to the exhibit is free and we encourage staff to register in advance online at The Australasian Oil and Gas Exhibition website . Exhibition Opening Hours are as follows:

Wednesday, 24 th March 11am - 7pm
Thursday, 25 th March 11am - 7pm
Friday, 26 th March 11am - 4pm
